Our Values & Principles

Our Values

INTERSPIRITUALITY

Interspirituality goes beyond interfaith dialogue to explore the interconnectedness of diverse spiritual traditions. Unlike synchretism, which blends different beliefs, interspirituality recognizes underlying unity while preserving individual traditions.

Curiosity

Having an open-minded and inquisitive approach to exploring and understanding diverse spiritual traditions. It involves a genuine desire to learn, question, and discover the commonalities and differences between various belief systems.

Reverence

Acknowledging the value and beauty of each tradition, regardless of personal beliefs. It's about appreciating the wisdom, practices, and contributions of diverse spiritual paths. This doesn't require agreeing with everything, but rather fostering a deep respect and understanding for all.

The problem to be faced is: how to combine loyalty to one’s own tradition with reverence for different traditions.
— Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel

Our founding principles

We strive to create a community that fosters Spiritual Growth, Interfaith Harmony, and a deeper Connection to the Divine.

Interspirituality as a Framework

We embrace interspirituality as the context for our spiritual practice. This framework fosters dialogue, mutual respect, and the recognition that truth is not the exclusive domain of any single tradition. We value the diversity of spiritual experiences and the enriching potential of interfaith exchange.

Interfaith Love and Appreciation

We cultivate love and appreciation for other religious traditions, recognizing their transformative power and the extraordinary individuals they have produced. We engage in interfaith dialogue without judgment or prejudice.

Rejection of Intolerance

We condemn all forms of intolerance, disrespect, and violence perpetrated in the name of religion or spirituality.

Equanimity of Traditions

We recognize the inherent value and imperfection of all religious traditions. Each tradition offers a unique perspective on the Divine and a rich heritage of spiritual practices.

Diversity of the Divine

We affirm the validity and significance of every spiritual path as a legitimate expression of the Divine or the Sacred.

Respect for Diverse Paths

We honor the individual journey toward spiritual maturity and respect the diverse paths that others may choose.

Non-Proselytization

We do not seek to convert others to our beliefs or practices. Our focus is on personal spiritual growth and interspiritual dialogue.

Authenticity of Tradition

We value the integrity of each religious tradition and do not advocate for syncretism or blending of disparate beliefs.

The religion of humankind can be said to be spirituality itself, because mystical spirituality is the origin of all the religions. If this is so, and I believe it is, we might say that interspirituality - the sharing of ultimate experience across traditions - is the religion of the third millenium. Interspirituality is the foundation that can prepare the way for a planet-wide enlightened culture.
